We felt so at home. Everything we needed was available for us for the beach trip day trips. I highly recommend staying here. The owners were very attentive from the very beginning and provided very clear instructions. We loved our stay there. It has an amazing view, great pool, and is a short drive from town, the beaches, and the best trails of the National Park. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Great location - easy to find, close to Cruz Bay but feels very private. The house was perfect for my family of 4. Two nice bedrooms/bathrooms with comfortable king beds. Big common area with lots of room and an amazing view of Chocolate Bay. Outside deck and pool were off the charts - the pool is much bigger/better than it appears in the photos. The kitchen is well stocked and they have everything else you need - washer/dryer, beach chairs, coolers, towels, boogie board, etc. Brittany was easy to work with and had great communication/instructions. The care takers live in the unit below but we didn’t see/hear them the entire week so it felt like we had the entire property to ourselves. We stayed at the Westin last trip and this place was cheaper and way better! We have stayed at many airbnbs and all agreed this one is our all time favorite. - Edward December 2023

Brittany and Robert’s place was in a great location with an incredible view. It was the perfect setup for 2 couples - 2 bedrooms, each with their own bath and walk out to the deck. We rented a Jeep and explored the hiking trails, beaches, and snorkeling spots. We enjoyed lounging in the pool and watching the sunset. -Laura October 2023

Fantastic. I hope we have another opportunity to come back. Having a living and kitchen area open up to the pool deck all overlooking the ocean bay...just spectacular. Clean, quiet, very well equipped. Perfect for two couples or a small family. We didn't want to leave the house. This property was gorgeous. Basically had a wing for the parents and a wing for our daughter. We loved going to the beach and coming home to the pool at night. Brittany and Robert even offered us a free extension since we were delayed for 48 hrs in Puerto Rico. This spacious place was perfect for myself, my husband and our 2 boys (10 & 12). We had everything we needed for cooking… fully stocked kitchen with all the gadgets and everything needed for heading out for our adventures ( beach chairs, coolers, boogie board, etc.). The pool and view was lovely. The stargazing was amazing without any light pollution. Location was peaceful and away from it all, yet just a short drive to Cruz bay.

Wonderful home! A great location that's less than 10 minutes from Cruz Bay, but still felt very private. Lovely view for sunsets. The lower unit was occupied while we were there, but we barely heard/saw our fellow visitors. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking appliances, pots, and pans. The home also provides a large cooler, beach chairs, small ice packs, and beach towels. Everything you need for a day at the beach. - Rachael December 2022

My wife and I had a great time in St. John thanks to this villa. The views are great. The house was very clean and well equipped. Exactly what we needed! This place is in a perfect location about 1 mile to downtown. It’s Far enough away to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown noise, but close enough to shoot into town whenever you want. The location, views, landscaping and hospitality were 2nd to none. A previous review said it best, this place checks all of the boxes! My family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Down Yonder. Great house! Good location. Everything you need is provided. View was beautiful and the pool was perfect. Just keep in mind there is an apartment downstairs that is rented separately and could be rented at the same time as your stay. We paid extra to block it off for privacy which added a bit to the cost, but was worth it. Brittany was immediately responsive and answered my many questions promptly and thoroughly. Could not have asked for a better owner to work with. She gave recommendations for in house massages and helped us contact locals on the island for various needs. She was the best! We just spent 10 nights/ 9 days at the beautiful Down Yonder Pool Villa with stunning views of Chocolate Hole and amazing privacy. Brittany and Robert thought of everything for our stay. They provided beach chairs for four people, beach towels, bug spray, sunscreen, coolers, cups, coffee, spices, etc., etc. I could go on and on as everything was provided. I highly recommend this place for a stay on beautiful St. John. The villa is a short few minutes drive to downtown Cruz bay. We followed Brittany's recommendation for renting a jeep which we used daily to take us to the many bays on St. John. We snorkeled , swam, and used the 2 paddleboards we had rented from Lucy at www.sup-stjohn.com. If you want to rent paddleboards this is the perfect place as Lucy personally delivered and picked them up directly at our villa. She also provided all the roof mounting straps, paddles, lifejackets, and ankle leashes. Brittany also suggested we use Carol with Smile Taxi at smiletaxi@aol.com for our private transfer from the St. Thomas airport to the Red Hook Ferry Dock and back again. Carol was the best providing us with an abundance of information and history of many places we passed in St. Thomas including many real stories of being on island during the 2 devastating hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Brittany and Robert provided valuable information and suggestions while staying at the Villa involving use of air conditioning, water conservation, power, keeping mosquitos and other island insects at bay. Please follow these suggestions and you should have a perfect stay. Brittany and Robert are very quick to respond to any issues including being at the villa within minutes if needed. Unbelievable is how this place is best described. I’ve stayed in a handful of villas, and one of the resorts over the last 5 years and so far nothing has come close to how great this place is. The pool villa was extremely spacious and suited me and my 3 guests perfectly. We could have piled many more people in there. It was equipped with everything we needed from pool floats to beach chairs and coolers so we didn’t need anything but our sunscreen. It was extremely clean and had some great kitchen equipment like a nice kureg and all the things you’d find at home to cook a nice meal. I got up every morning to watch the sun come up and it is a stunning view from their deck sitting next to the pool. It was quiet and peaceful. I will never stay with anyone else. We stayed at Down Yonder Villa for 10 days in November 2019 celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary. Our accommodations could not have been nicer. The layout was perfect for 4 people to enjoy, including two master bedrooms with private baths, spacious living, dining and kitchen areas, all centered around a wide glass window with sliding doors to highlight the beautiful private pool and incredible view of Chocolate Hole. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make a nice meal or mix up some tasty beverages. The villa included all towels and linens, and everything one would need for exploring St John’s beautiful beaches. Finally, the pool and deck with it’s gorgeous views, comfortable lounge furniture, grill and dining table were a perfect place for morning coffee, relaxing floats and breathtaking sunsets. This was my first visit to St John. I had a view of water and beautiful gardens.....even from the shower! I couldn't believe when I walked in, there was a welcome note from Brittany and Robert along with coffee for the Keurig, sunscreen, mosquito spray, umbrellas,a cooler, chairs and towels for the beach and a gallon of water to get started. The king bed was so comfy. A nice kitchen with everything you could need including a microwave and toaster oven. I stayed in Down Yonder Villa. It was a fantastic 2 bedroom 2 bath home with a great kitchen and large den with a sofa sleeper. From all areas you had a view of the ocean, beautiful gardens and a great salt water pool. Again the house had all the previously mentioned amenities. All places were close to town, eating, and shopping. They all had TV, WiFi, and washer/dryer. I visited 3 different beautiful beaches(my favorite part) recommended by Brittany and Robert. The water and beaches were so much prettier than Florida. I can't wait to go back and visit 3 more! We stayed in Down Yonder Pool Villa in July 2018. It was our second stay at Down Yonder (1st stay was February 2017), and we loved it again! The house could not be better for either couples traveling together or a family. The first time we visited with another couple. This time we brought our 2 kids with us. Having the large great room and kitchen that open up directly out on to the pool deck and patio is a perfect set up! The kids literally ran from the great room to a cannonball into the pool as soon as we arrived! The bedrooms are both large and comfortable (the AC works REALLY well in the bedrooms and the great room), both bathrooms are large, there is a full size washer dryer, the kitchen is MORE than completely equipped, and there are plenty of beach accessories to borrow. They even stock plenty of beach towels and tons of sunscreen and bug spray for guests to use. They have really thought of everything! We loved hanging out on the patio watching the view of the water, and the kids were really happy with the Roku streaming TV (we visited during the World Cup and they didn’t want to miss a game). The location is really convenient to town and there is plenty of parking and turn around space on an easy, flat driveway. There are no stairs to enter the villa or get out to the pool. My husband and I stayed at Brittany & Robert's home for our honeymoon. We spent 7 days in St. John and loved every second of our trip! We have vacationed to St John before but have only stayed in hotel / resorts and were eager to rent a private home / villa for our stay. While looking at other homes we were skeptical about locations, cleanliness, travel to town, etc.. This home checked ALL of our list items and was more than we expected. Brittany was very responsive throughout our entire stay and booking process. She shared useful travel information, details on St. John, tips, etc. The pictures do not so the view justice. You have a clear view of the water and can enjoy plenty of wonderful days out by the large pool! It was just two of us but this villa could easily fit another couple + children in the second bedroom. The kitchen was full equipped with cooking materials, extra spices, pots & pans, etc. There were plenty of beach towels available, a cooler, umbrella, etc. We used these each day as we traveled to the different Bays on St John. I would recommend renting a car if you are staying here because it would not be walkable / taxis can be expensive. We had a Jeep and it was great! I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to St John with great views! - Nicole May 2017
